Parents of black brothers sue district over alleged racismALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) — The parents of two black brothers have sued an eastern Pennsylvania school district saying officials didn't shield the boys from racist taunts, including a stereotypical video and another student who draped a Confederate flag over one of the victims' shoulders. The alleged victim was told to "wear" the flag "with pride," according to the federal lawsuit filed by Kerry and Sheila McLean against the Saucon Valley School District. The 14-year-old white boy who made the video of a black student eating chicken was prosecuted for ethnic intimidation and the 11th-grade brother identified as a victim in the lawsuit was charged with simple assault for punching another student as a result. The other alleged victim is in eighth grade. The school district's solicitor declined comment on the lawsuit which seeks unspecified monetary damages. Copyright 2017 Associated Press.
